Frequently Asked Questions

If my jewellery contains diamonds, pearls, and other gemstones, will you accept them? +

We do accept jewellery that includes diamonds and other stones, however, please note that our appraisal is based solely on the gold and platinum content. Gemstones, including diamonds, are not factored into the offer amount. If you wish to retain any stones, we recommend having them removed prior to sending your items, as we are unable to return them once received.

Do you accept other precious metals? +

We exclusively purchase items made of gold or platinum, based on their precious metal content. Items that are not gold or platinum will not be accepted. This includes plated jewellery, watches, timepieces, and coins that are considered legal tender in Canada or any other country.

How much will you pay for my gold and platinum? +

Each item is assessed based on its weight, metal purity, and the current market price of gold and platinum on the day your package is received at our facility or the day of your in-person appointment. Please note that our offer reflects the value of the precious metals only. It does not account for any potential resale value of the item in its original form, nor does it consider sentimental value as all items that we purchase are sent directly for refining; we do not refurbish or resell individual pieces.

Do I need an appointment to sell my gold or platinum in-store? +

In addition to our secure, contactless online service, we offer in-store events hosted by our experienced Gold Exchange specialists. During your in-store visit, you’ll receive an on-the-spot appraisal of your precious metals, with immediate payout available via cash or contactless Interac. While walk-ins may be accommodated during scheduled events, we strongly recommend booking an appointment to ensure you are seen by our Gold Exchange expert. Apart from these specialty events, you book a private appointment at participating stores.

How will I be paid for my gold or platinum items? +

For online transactions, payment is issued via electronic transfer or cheque. Funds are typically released within three to five business days, depending on the selected payment method. Payment may be processed sooner if the offer is accepted in writing. For in-store transactions, payment is provided immediately on-site, either in cash or through contactless Interac payment.

How does your mail-in service work? +

Our secure mail-in service is designed to ensure the safe handling of your gold and other precious metals throughout the process. Upon request, you will receive a shipping kit that includes a durable plastic bag for your items and a prepaid, trackable envelope. The tracking number must be registered at your local post office to enable real-time monitoring of your shipment. Once your package arrives at our facility, your items will be appraised within two business days.

Can I change my mind after I send in my items? +

Yes, you have up to 30 days to cancel your transaction if you change your mind. If you received a cheque, simply return it. If you were offered an electronic transfer, you may decline it. For in-store transactions, you may return the funds—either in cash or via Interac debit, depending on the original payment method. Once the payment is returned or declined, your items will be returned to you.

Will my items remain intact during the mail-in evaluation process? +

Our evaluation process uses non-invasive electronic testing that does not damage your jewellery. However, in cases where an item contains components of varying purities—such as a 14kt bracelet with 10kt charms—we may request your written consent to separate the components in order to provide an accurate appraisal. No alterations will be made without your written approval.

How many items can I send by mail or bring to an appointment? +

You are welcome to send as many items as will comfortably fit in the secure mail-in bag provided. For in-store appointments, there is no limit—you may bring as many items as you wish for evaluation.

Are my items insured while in your care? +

Yes, all items shipped to us are insured for up to $100 during transit. You will receive an email confirmation once your package has arrived at our facility. If you choose to cancel the transaction after sending your items, we will return them to you with insurance coverage of up to $500, based on our appraisal of the precious metal content only.
